What is a VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN helps you access internet resources remotely, securely, and privately with tunneling technology. The VPN encrypts your personal information and hides your IP address from the public when you use the internet. This way, no one can tell who you are, where you are, and what you’re doing online. A VPN protects your data from being stolen by hackers or censored by unwanted organizations.

Two Functions
Encryption Access via VPN
A router not only acts as a gateway to provide network sharing, but it can also allow you to freely access VPN services. By setting up VPN Clients on your routers, your connections to the VPN services will become invisible to the internet, making you anonymous. Your IP address will stay hidden and your network safely encrypted.

Better Adaptability with TP-Link VPN Routers
Our VPN router supports OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP Over IPsec, and all major VPN providers offer at least one of these VPN types. The VPN Client on TP-Link routers works with TP-Link VPN servers and most third-party VPN servers, including Surfshark, NordVPN, Mullvad VPN, ProtonVPN, ExpressVPN, PrivateTunnel, OVPN.com, and PIA. Continuous upgrades will also allow VPN routers to support more advanced VPN protocols.
More Devices
Some VPN service providers may have device restrictions for VPN services. For example, some services may only allow five devices to use the VPN service simultaneously. With the VPN Client on TP-Link routers, you no longer have these limits. The router will be recognized as a device, and all the devices connected to the router’s network can use the VPN service.

Remote Work with VPN Routers
The confidentiality of the VPN makes it possible to work remotely. It will encrypt the data transmitted between you and the company, and the encrypted data will be securely transmitted on a dedicated data link, just like in a dedicated network. You can ensure that you have access to your company's network remotely without worrying about the risk of data leakage.
Auto Connect
After setting up a VPN-connected device, it will automatically use the VPN all the time, allowing full encryption while surfing online in the office or at home. No need to install VPN software on every client.
Easy to setup and use
Two Functions, More Applications
TP-Link VPN routers support two functions: VPN Server and VPN Client. When using the VPN Client function, the device connected to the router can directly access the VPN server for remote office and cross-regional access. When using the VPN Server function, external devices can access the VPN server, including remote desktops, NAS, printers, cameras, and other devices in the home network.
