Q1. What TP-Link product will support EasyMesh?

A. You may refer to the TP-Link EasyMesh Compatible Devices

NOTE: Please be aware that certain models will require firmware updates to support EasyMesh, you could pay attention to the subsequent firmware releases on the TP-Link official website.

Q2. Can I use TP-Link EasyMesh products together with TP-Link OneMesh or Deco Mesh products?

A. No. Wi-Fi EasyMesh, TP-Link OneMesh™, and Deco Mesh use different technologies, so they are not compatible with building a Mesh network.

Q3. Will EasyMesh support Ethernet Backhaul?

A. EasyMesh routers or extenders are planned to support Ethernet Backhaul and some of the EasyMesh routers have already supported it via a firmware upgrade. Please keep an eye on the official website and the router’s online updates for firmware updates when the new features are available.

Q4. Can I use TP-Link EasyMesh devices with EasyMesh products from different manufacturers or companies? Are they compatible?

A. Theoretically, TP-Link EasyMesh will work with any EasyMesh-certified products due to the standardized EasyMesh technology. However, EasyMesh networking methods can vary based on the manufacturers, we highly recommend using TP-Link EasyMesh products together to ensure the best performance and full compatibility.

Q5. If I have a TP-Link EasyMesh router working under AP mode, can I set it as an EasyMesh main router directly?

A. No, when the router is working under AP mode, there is no EasyMesh option on the Web. We must make sure the main router is working under wireless router mode.

Q6. If the TP-Link range extender was installed in another house, can I just take it here and add it to the existing TP-Link EasyMesh system?

A. Yes, we can press the WPS button on the main router and new extender to finish the EasyMesh configuration.

Q7. If I want to add more than one TP-Link range extender to the existing EasyMesh system, can I press the WPS button on the additional Range Extender and existing Range Extender separately to finish the process?

A. No, we must press the WPS button on the main router and satellite extender separately to establish an EasyMesh connection.

Q8. Can we configure the EasyMesh network with Tether Application?

A. Tether App is not ready yet, for now, we can only configure that through the Main Router's Webpage in the EasyMesh function part.

Q9. How can we deploy the EasyMesh devices now?

A. we deploy them only by Wireless connection, like Router+Router, Router+Range Extender, or Router+Router+Range Extender.

Q10. How to add the old router into EasyMesh

A. We need to upgrade the Router to the firmware which supports EasyMesh, then reset it to get it back to factory mode, then we can add this router to other main EasyMesh routers by WPS pairing.

Q11. Can I use my own router which doesn't support EasyMesh as the main router?

A. No, for now, we will still need the main router to support EasyMesh at least, then it will help handle and decide when and how we should connect and roam in our EasyMesh WiFi network.

Q12. If I disable the EasyMesh function on the main router’s web mistakenly, can I turn it back on to recover the original EasyMesh connection?

A. It depends on the type of satellite devices. If the satellite device is a range extender, it can recover the EasyMesh connection automatically. But if the satellite device is a router, it cannot rejoin the EasyMesh network automatically.
