How to set up an IPv6 Internet connection on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers

Your ISP should have provided the following info:

PPPoE, Dynamic IP (SLAAC/DHCPv6), Pass-Through (Bridge), and Static IP.

Please follow the steps to set up the IPV6.

1. Log in to the web-based interface of the router. If you don’t know how to do that, please refer to the FAQ:

2. Go to Advanced > IPv6.

3. Enable IPv6.

Case 1. The IPV4 Internet connection Type is Dynamic IP.

Case2. The IPV4 Internet Connection Type is PPPoE.

1. Select PPPoE. Enable Share the same PPPoE session with IPV4.

Note: If your ISP provides 2 separate accounts for the IPv4 and IPv6 connections, please untick the Use the same session with the IPv4 connection checkbox and manually enter the username and password for the IPv6 connection.

2. Go to Advanced settings, Select Auto in “Get IPv6 Address”. Select Enable in “Prefix Delegation”.

3. Click Save.

Case3. There is a main router in front of our router.

1. Select Pass-Through(bridge).

2. Click Save.

Case4.The IPV4 Internet connection Type is static IP.

1. Select Static IP.

2. Type the information provided by your ISP.

Note: If you do not know what your internet connection type is, contact your ISP or judge according to the already known information provided by your ISP.

3. Click Save.

Case 5. For some specific ISP like BT/Hyperoptic or SKY etc.
