Changing the Wireless Settings on your Deco app

If you want to change the wireless name, password, or wireless security type of the Deco network, this guide will show you how to do this.

Here we take Deco M5 as an example.

NOTE: Features available in Deco may vary by model and software version. All steps and images described here are only examples and may not reflect your actual Deco experience.

1. Connect your phone to Deco’s Wi-Fi network, then open the Deco app.

2. Tap “More”, then click on “Wi-Fi”.

3. In the Wi-Fi settings, you have three options: Main Network, Guest Network, and Share.

Main Network:

Deco provides both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks with the same network name. If you want to use 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi only, you can switch off the unwanted Wi-Fi band in the Deco app.

Click on the SSID or password, then you can change the SSID, password, and security type as your desire. You can also hide the SSID if necessary.

If you want to change the wireless security type, click on Security. Currently, Deco supports WPA2-PSK(AES), WPA2-PSK(AES)+WPA-PSK(TKIP), and None security type.

For the Deco models that support WPA3, you can also select WPA3-personal or WPA3-Personal+WPA2-PSK (AES) security type.

Then please click on the Save button in the upper right corner to save the changes.

Guest Network:

Enable the Guest network if you want to use it.

Click on the SSID or password, then change the SSID, password, and security type as your desire, then tap “Save” to save the changes.

The Guest network may also contain Effective Time and Bandwidth Control features on some Deco models.

On the Effective Time, you can set the time duration to turn on the Guest network. If you select Auto, the Guest network will turn off automatically if no devices are connected to it for about 10 minutes.

On the Bandwidth Control, you can set the bandwidth for the devices connected to the Guest network.

Share

Press SHARE on the Main or Guest network, then you can share the Wi-Fi name and password with the person you want to invite to join the Deco network.
