Objective

The Backup & Restore feature allows you to export your current settings and data files, then import them on another PC for modification. This guide shows you how to use this feature.

Requirements

  • VIGI VMS
  • Browser

Configuration

Step 1. Log in to the VMS Web page.

Step 2. Export configurations manually or enable automatic backups in System Settings.

  • Method 1:

Go to Admin > System Settings > General Settings > Backup & Restore. Select the time range and user data to save, then click Download.

  • Method 2:

Go to Admin > System Settings > General Settings > Auto Backup. Select the time range and user data to save and set the number of files to keep and the backup interval.

Step 3. On another PC, open Local VMS and go to Admin > System Settings > General Settings > Backup & Restore. Import the file downloaded in Step 2 and select Restore.

Step 4. In Admin > System Settings > General Settings > Auto Backup > View Backup Files, select the auto-saved configuration file and click Restore to import it. You can also delete saved configuration files.
