Requirements

  • Wi-Fi Camera
  • VIGI App

Introduction

The VIGI App may fail to add Wi-Fi cameras due to various reasons. You may follow the troubleshooting steps to address the error code that pops up.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Error code: Your mobile phone is not connected to the internet

If your phone has no internet connection, or your phone connects to a Wi-Fi that has no internet, after you scan the QR code, the error code “Your mobile phone is not connected to the internet” will be displayed.

Turn mobile data on or get connected to a Wi-Fi that has internet before scanning the QR code to add the camera.

2. Error code: Unable to Connect to Your VIGI Camera

After enabling location permissions, the App will guide you to Wi-Fi Settings to connect to the IPC’s Wi-Fi. Then, go back to the VIGI App and tap Connected. Normally, the App will automatically search for the IPC, while in some cases, the IPC may not be found and the error code “Unable to Connect to your VIGI Camera” will pop up.

Go to Wi-Fi Settings again and make sure that you have connected to the Wi-Fi of the IPC. When a Wi-Fi icon appear on the top of your phone screen, open the VIGI App and the IPC will soon be found.

3. Error code: Incorrect Wi-Fi Password

When connecting the IPC to the wireless network but entering an incorrect password, the VIGI camera will broadcast “Incorrect Wi-Fi Password” with a slowly flashing red LED. In the meantime, the VIGI App will switch from the “Connecting to Your Network” page to the “Enter Your Network Password” page to remind you of double checking the password.
