An up-to-date firmware provides better and more stable EasyMesh network performance, so we highly recommend you always update the main and satellite devices to the latest firmware version.

Here are two ways to update the firmware for EasyMesh satellite devices.

Method 1

If your main device is the TP-Link Router, you can online update the firmware of satellite devices via the main device’s Web management interface. Please refer to the following steps:

a. Log in to the main device’s web management interface.

b. Click Advanced->System->Firmware Update->EasyMesh Satellite Update, click icon. You can also click CHECK FOR UPDATES to confirm if your firmware of the satellite devices is up to date.

Display the Firmware Upgrade on the Main Router’s Web management interface.

c. Click UPDATE in the window that pops up, then it will download and install the new firmware onto the corresponding satellite device.

Click UPDATE button in the window that pops up to start the update process.

Wait for the satellite device to download the firmware file.

Display the progress bar of the upgrade process.

Method 2

When the main device is from other manufacturer, please login to the satellite device’s web management page to upgrade the firmware.

Note: For TP-Link satellite routers, you may need to reset it at first.

For TP-Link Satellite Router

There are two scenarios:

1) For Archer AX55(V1), please Log into its web management by typing its IP address in the address bar of the web browser. If you don’t know how to do that, please refer to here. Then go to System->Firmware Update for firmware upgrade.

Display the firmware upgrade page on the satellite router's Web management interface.

2) For other Satellite Router models, currently they don’t have the web management interface when working in satellite mode, please follow the steps below to upgrade the firmware:

a. Reset the satellite router to switch it to main router mode, then refer to here for firmware upgrade.

b. After the new firmware is upgraded successfully, please reset the router again.
